THE Department of Health recommends children should aim for 60 minutes of physical activity each day and the good news is dancing counts. Dancing for 2 hours will bun off more calories than jogging for 5 miles or swimming for an hour. Dancing is a great way to build physical activity into our lives ~ evidence shows that having an inactive lifestyle has a negative impact on our health. Moving to music stimulates the senses, sight, sound and touch ~ it’s GREAT FUN and it’s good for our BODIES and MINDS. Dancing is an excellent introduction into many other creative activities, such as drama and music. You will meet new people and make new friends, not to mention learning more about cultures from around the world Dancing will improve strength, co-ordination, stamina and flexibility. It is a cardiovascular exercise, dance regularly and it will help promote a fit and trim heart, Many athletes use dance to improve their co-ordination and flexibility – even the Brazilian football team.
